Introduced in 2011, the Hyundai Veloster is a hatchback sport-compact coupe easily identified by its single door on the driver’s side and two doors on the passenger side. Our pick for a dedicated UHP tier is the Azenis FK510 from Falken, a great deal in an ultra-high-performance tire that shoots far above expectations for its price point. Drivers love the Falken Azenis FK510 for cornering and braking performance that is exacting and confident with a semi-solid center rib, wide shoulder blocks, and lateral notches, enough to mark up a SimpleScore of 8.7 for handling. Last but not least, we’ve got the Cobra Instinct from Cooper. Cooper has been one of America’s most respected tire brands for well over 100 years, and the Cobra Instinct is a tire you can count on for sharp performance and excellent value. Its cornering and braking capabilities are superb. It gets a solid SimpleScore of 9.0 for handling, thanks to lightweight construction that enhances steering response and an asymmetric tread pattern designed to counter the inertia and G-forces of cornering.
