Ford Police-interceptor-sedan Tires

For many, many years the Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor was the go-to vehicle for police departments everywhere. The Crown Vic was dependable and plentiful, with tough body-on-frame construction and RWD. By 2011 the Crown Vic (based on an 80s-era platform) was outdated and only available for fleet use, so Ford needed a replacement for the police market. In the 2010s, Ford considered discontinuing the Taurus sedan but revamped it with a purpose-built police version that featured an aluminum block 365 hp V6 (shared with the Mustang) and AWD drivetrain as well as lots of other heavy-duty police goodies. A 4-cyl version was also available for detective or administrative fleets. The Police Interceptor Sedan was discontinued in ‘18 and replaced by the Explorer-based Police Interceptor Utility.
