A sub-brand of TransAmerica, Venom Power is a fast-growing tire brand that offers unique tire sizes for enthusiasts. With its robust construction and high-quality products, Venom Power tires are gradually gaining momentum in North America. It produces tires for passenger cars, light trucks, and trailers in various categories such as all-season, all-terrain, mud-terrain, winter, and ultra-high-performance. In today’s review, we will be focusing on its highly appreciated all-terrain offering - Venom Power Terra Hunter R/T Plus.
Designed for adventure seekers and off-road enthusiasts, the Venom Power Terra Hunter R/T Plus is available in a wide range of tire sizes ranging from 17 to 28 inches. It features a sturdy carcass, aggressive tread pattern, aesthetically pleasing design, high-strength sidewalls, deep tread pattern, and good performance both on and off the road. Additionally, it comes with a manufacturer’s limited tread life warranty of 50,000 miles on select sizes. Staggered shoulder lugs not only look aggressive but also deliver on that aggression by providing more biting edges and traction on challenging terrains. Venom Power claims that the Terra Hunter R/T Plus offers unparalleled traction in snow, sand, mud, and rocky terrains.
So, does it deliver on the promise? Let’s find out by delving into more details in this Venom Power Terra Hunter R/T Plus tire review.
Features and Benefits
All-terrain tires are designed to provide superior grip and traction in rocky, muddy, and other similar terrain types, and, at the same time, their rugged construction should withstand the sudden shocks and rigorous beating of harsh conditions. The Terra Hunter R/T Plus happens to reach very close to it. Let’s see how it does that.
- Tough construction – The aggressively designed tread with dual sidewall design absorbs the shocks of uneven terrain and delivers a confident off-road drive. The self-cleaning tread design prevents stones and debris to collect over time within the tread. Besides off-road, the reinforced construction and unique rubber compound allow solid performance on paved roads and soft surfaces.
- High grip and excellent traction – Deep grooves and staggered tread blocks enhance traction and grip on tough terrains. The open shoulder design aids in returning optimum performance by providing additional biting edges that grip the surface firmly. The shoulders not only aid in better cornering and gripping abilities but they also resist uneven wear. Self-cleaning tread expels stones, debris, and mud from the tread to limit stone drilling.
- Comfortable ride on the highway – Unlike other all-terrain tires, the Terra Hunter R/T Plus offers equally good performance on paved roads too. The optimized tread pattern with variable pitch sequencing tames road noise for a quieter ride and increases comfort for drivers and passengers. The tough yet flexible rubber compound aids in making drive more comfortable.

Thought tires was going to be a good buy. Boy, was I wrong. Tires will not stay balanced (tried multiple times) and are bad out of round. Just a little over 40 mph to highway speeds vibration and walking increases drastically especially after the tire heats up. WILL NOT BUY AGAIN.
Good traction wet off-road. I am happy with my purchase. I gave the noise a 3 because they do whine on the highway. Some may find that annoying, I like it. I also like the load rating. If I could get these with a heavier load rating I would.
I have less than 1000 miles on the tires and have had them balanced twice. They are also very loud.
Love the look of these tires, they're my first pair of venom powers. They ride smooth and i was expecting them to be less noisy than my trail blade m/t's i had before but they were about the same noise wise. Im happy with them and simple tire made it very easy and fast to purchase, arrived within a week!
Have had these tires on my Gladiator for about 15k miles and they are showing pretty even wear. Noisy as was expected, but nothing CRAZY. They seemed to be a bit difficult to balance and in think they may still be a hair out of balance, but not enough to cause any real handling problems. All told, they are affordable, look nice and perform well (haven't been off-roading yet). I can't complain, will probably get another pair if these continue to wear nice and slowly and evenly.
Dont balance out, awful in the rain, awful if u hit standing water, the tires arent round so they shake everything. Dont buy venom, never will get another set.
These tires did perform well in the mud. With that said i could not get them balanced and they got louder with more mileage. Would be great for an old hunting truck. Not too great on a daily driver. They also hydroplane very badly if there is any standing water.
