  • If you’ve got a 4x4 pickup, Jeep, or SUV and you’re serious about off-roading, you need a durable mud-terrain tire that can get you there and back every time. The competition is pretty stiff when it comes to tough mud-terrain tires, but the Lexani Mud Beast MT is a definite contender.

If you’re not familiar with Lexani, this is a sub-brand of Korean manufacturer Nexen who specializes in performance-oriented tires for passenger cars as well as tough tires for light trucks. But is this the right tire for your ride? Let’s break it down and get a closer look at what the tire is all about in this Lexani Mud Beast MT review.

    Features and Benefits

Mud terrain tires need to be durable for demanding use while also providing strong traction on challenging terrains. Here’s what the Mud Beast MT has to enhance performance and durability:

    • Heavy-duty damage-resistant tread formulation stands up to rough off-road conditions
    • Single-strand bead wire for a more positive seal at the rim
    • Reinforced sidewall resists cuts, punctures, bruises, scuffs
    • Wraparound lugs at shoulder and sidewall boost lateral traction
    • Aggressive mud-terrain tread ejects mud, gravel, and debris so there’s always a clear section of tread to dig into the road

Available in a wide range of sizes for various fitments and utilizing a reinforced construction, the Mud Beast MT also features aggressive looks that are sure to complement most Jeeps, trucks, and SUVs.

    Pros and Cons

While Lexani might not be the most well known brand, we do think the Mud Beast MT has some clear strengths:

    Pros:

    • Can be used aired-down for rock crawling
    • Durable for use the roughest applications
    • Good self-cleaning of mud and gravel from tread
    • Up to 35” diameter for lifted trucks for extra ground clearance

No tire is perfect, and that’s true of the Mud Beast MT too:

    Cons:

    • Noisy
    • Not great in sand
    • Not backed by a tread life warranty

Pleasantly surprised by these tires! Wasn't expecting much for the money but they're great. They balanced out just fine, nice aggressive tread pattern, notuch road noise, the do fine on wet roads and great in the mud. Can't comment on treadwear or winter handling yet but, it's a mud tire, so.....

For a mud tire these tires are great! They have good traction on the road and great off road. I haven't had them long enough to rate the winter traction or tread wear, but based on what I have experienced they will do well.
