  • Cosmo Tire was founded in 1994 and, ever since, they have been blending performance, quality, and value into its tire lines. If you are a driver of Jeeps, light trucks, and SUVs, you will find this tire made up of advanced design and stylish looks.

Mud-terrain tires are built to excel in mud, dirt, sand, gravel, rock, and other off-road terrains. Additionally, these tires feature aggressive tread designs that allow them to conquer any terrain plus reinforced sidewalls prevent damage.

The Cosmo Mud Kicker tire is designed for use on Jeeps, light trucks, and SUVs that want a rugged tire for off-road driving. But is this the right tire for you and your ride? Let’s take a look at this Cosmo Mud Kicker review.

    Features and Benefits

A great fit to be used as a mud terrain tire to suit the needs of drivers of Jeeps, pickup trucks, and full-sized SUVs, the Mud Kicker features a tough, deep tread pattern that allows for solid traction and performance in mud, dirt, and sand, plus the tire's dual sidewall design options allow drivers to drive in style.

Let’s take a look at the Cosmo Mud Kicker tire review to help understand all its features and benefits at a glance:

    • All-Terrain competent: Huge shoulder claws and alternating open scalloped lugs provide added strength, impact protection, and enhanced sidewall as the Mud Kicker is engineered for the toughest terrains.
    • Great on-road performance: A strategically designed center rib provides great on-road handling performance for a quiet and comfortable ride.
    • Self-cleaning design: The multi-faceted shoulder claws design promotes self-cleaning capabilities that quickly expel mud and debris to provide excellent traction in extreme terrain.
    • Protection against stones: Mud and stone ejectors are integrated into the tread design to protect against stone retention and drilling.
    • Puncture resistant: A three-ply sidewall construction improves puncture resistance for better durability.
    • Enhanced traction: The Mud Kicker comes with reinforced bead area that provides grip and enhances the tires' traction and performance in both on and off-road environments, which are especially helpful in rocky terrain.
    • Dual sidewall: With Mud Kicker, you can select from two aesthetically designed sidewalls that match your style.

The wheel size ranges from 16-inch to 22-inch, which makes it an ideal choice for a wide range of Jeeps, light trucks, and SUVs.

    Pros and Cons

Before deciding to buy the Mud Kicker or not, let’s first drill down on a few factors that can help you decide whether or not the tire is right for you.

    • Two distinct sidewalls options allow drivers to pick the look that matches their ride
    • Multi-faceted shoulder claws provide extra grip
    • Reinforced bead area provides added traction surface in deep mud or snow
    • 3 ply sidewalls for stronger handling
    • Angled tread blocks lowers road noise
    • Tread block divots & stone ejector remove mud and stone while providing more grip and longer tire life

While Cosmo makes a good claim about Mud Kicker’s performance, some shortcomings may divide opinions.

    • A bit noisier than other tires
    • Does not perform well on icy surfaces
    • The ride is firmer than its closest premium competitors
    • No tread life warranty

SimpleTire’s view on Cosmo Mud Kicker tires

Cosmo offer a wide range of all-season, all-terrain, winter tires to UHP tires. With the Mud Kicker, that is manufactured to be used on Jeeps and light trucks with an aggressive, dual-pitch tread pattern that enhances traction and handling performance in mud, dirt, gravel, and other soft surfaces. Additionally, the 3-ply polyester construction helps it to resist punctures from rocks, twigs, and other off-road hazards. The stone and mud ejectors within the tread help this tire to stay clean helping in great traction, while added sipes help prevent cracking so that the tire has a longer lifespan and making it an ideal choice for passenger vehicles, light trucks, commercial, ATV/UTV, and trailers.

This is a solid mud terrain tire but if you compare it with the Maxxis Razr MT-772, you get a warranty of 40,000 miles, increased tread life and superior traction at a little higher price.

Vehicles the Cosmo Mud Kicker is a good replacement tire for

This tire is an ideal choice for a wide range of vehicles on roads ranging from Jeeps, pickup trucks, and full-size SUVs. Consider the Mud Kicker if you drive a Jeep Wrangler, Toyota Tundra, Ford F-150, Nissan Titan, Jeep Gladiator, or Toyota Tacoma, and many more.

I always get a the BEST deal, hands down, then any other seller. I live close to warehouse and my tires are delivered in 2 days with not one problem. I been buying tire off of Simply Tire for 10 years, and I won't go anywhere else.

Never ran these tires on my truck before, but they have surprised me compared to higher end tires. For the price you can't beat the quality these tires have. Buy with confidence!

Was skeptical about these, the few reviews saying quiet. These tires ARE quiet! But they also hook up! Everything was mud until mid December so I got to try that aspect out and dang! Where i needed to lock the hubs with BF Goodrich on previously, it walked through in 2 wheel drive. Then it snowed amd these tires are awesome there too! Smoth on dry roads, great on gravel, same for mud and snow. I can't say enough how pleased I am with my Cosmo Mud Kickers! And 50,000 warrenty? Can't beat it.

Mounted and balanced with no problem at all. Very low road noise and great traction on any road I have tried. Would definitely recommend to others. My brother like them so much he ordered a set for his truck as well

I drive a ram 2500 that weighs in close to 9200 pounds and I'm not easy on it. I purchased the 35/12.5/18 12 ply tires. These tires have held up better than I expected them too. I will definitely be purchasing another set when the time comes. They look great. They hold the road and in the dirt and mud just as well. I'm excited to see how this winter turns out.

Handle well on dry roads and wet. Actually very reasonable road noise considering how aggressive they are. Haven't had a chance to see how they do on snow and ice yet, and have only put on a couple thousand miles, so can't tell about treadwear. Sure they won't be the longest lasting, but that's what you get with an aggressive tire.
